Installing WordPress Plugins
July 10, 2008 6:24 am Site Updates, WordPressStatus report >>
I spent some time today installing the following plugins to wordpress:
Akismet 2.1.6 Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.” To show off your Akismet stats just put <?php akismet_counter(); ?> in your template. See also: WP Stats plugin. By Matt Mullenweg.
aLinks 2.0.1 A WordPress plugin that automatically links keywords in your blog post. By Sean Hickey.
This plugin did not install for me, I’m getting an error message and I waiting for a response from Sean. I did install this plugin flawlessly on another site of mine.
All in One SEO Pack 1.4.6.11 Out-of-the-box SEO for your Wordpress blog. By Michael Torbert.
cforms 8.5.2 cformsII offers unparalleled flexibility in deploying contact forms across your blog. Features include: comprehensive SPAM protection, Ajax support, Backup & Restore, Multi-Recipients, Role Manager support, Database tracking and many more. Please see the VERSION HISTORY for what’s new and current bugfixes. By Oliver Seidel.
Google XML Sitemaps 3.1.0.1 This plugin will generate a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO. Configuration Page By Arne Brachhold.
and of course…
Hello Dolly 1.5 This is not just a plugin, it symbolizes the hope and enthusiasm of an entire generation summed up in two words sung most famously by Louis Armstrong: Hello, Dolly. When activated you will randomly see a lyric from Hello, Dolly in the upper right of your admin screen on every page. By Matt Mullenweg.
Today I’m planning on adding some categories for the blog posts and trouble shoot the aLink plugin.
